A riding vacation in Carinthia! Or even better: a riding vacation at the Trattlers Hof Chalets. Here, the ideal riding experience for guests of all ages and the exquisite comfort of the Hof Chalets come together.

Horseriding for beginners and advanced riders

The requirements for the ideal riding experience are very individual. Some want to sit in the saddle for the first time. Others already have years of riding experience. For many children, riding a pony is the greatest thing ever, while others just want to spend some time with horses. We have the right offer for all of these options.

Riding school

The Trattlerhof has a history as a farm dating back more than 370 years. Horse riding also has a long tradition at the farm. Our riding stable is now located directly on the practice grounds and paddock. There, our eight school horses await guests who are enthusiastic about riding and horses. The horses are available for lunge and dressage lessons as well as for accompanied trail rides.

The offer includes the following options, among others:

  • Introductory riding lessons
  • Individual lunge lessons
  • Riding lessons in small groups
  • Individual riding lessons
  • Accompanied trail rides
  • Pony leading with accompaniment

For a comprehensive introduction to horse riding, we also offer the "1x1 of riding." This package includes a theory session and five riding lessons. You will learn how to lead a horse correctly, how to prepare everything for a ride, further tips and tricks, and how to follow up after a horse ride.

Horseback rides

If you already have advanced riding experience and know exactly what is important, our horses are looking forward to taking you on a ride. The area surrounding our riding stable is ideal for a wonderful ride in the countryside. The riding sessions are aimed at advanced riders and last 45 minutes. Two to three people can participate per session.

Torchlight hike

For all horse-loving guests staying at our Trattlers Hof Chalets, there is a romantic torchlight hike with horses every Wednesday. We set off with our guests and the farm horses on an evening hike through Bad Kleinkirchheim. In summer and winter alike, it is a special moment every week when we walk through the night under the starry sky and with the crackling, warming torches beside us.

A hike with horses and torches gives every guest an indescribable and mystical holiday experience. We spend the grand finale around the campfire in the lounge of our Restaurant Einkehr.

Our horses

The riding experiences for our guests are as varied and individual as the horses at the Trattlerhof are colourful. There is Mylord, a warmblood gelding, and Scarlet, a warmblood mare – both with a height of 165 cm. Bubi, the riding pony, is slightly smaller with a height of 145 cm. The largest trio, with a height of 170 cm, consists of the three Noriker geldings Matador, Rebell and London.

Our smallest horses are at home in the pony farm next to Trattler's Einkehr and thus also next to the chalets. They have a height of between 85 and 100 cm and go by the names Nagano, Nanook, Elegance and Shakira.

Von der idealen Unterkunft aus können Sie zu den passenden Reiterlebnissen starten. Die Kinder sind direkt nebenan bei der Ponyfarm perfekt aufgehoben. Für die größeren Kids und die Eltern gibt es in der Nähe unseren Reitstall.

Bei jeder dieser Varianten bekommen die Kinder die ideale Möglichkeit, mit den Pferden in Berührung zu kommen. Egal, ob sie die Pferde einfach nur im Stall besuchen, sie für einen Ausritt vorbereiten oder sich selbst in den Sattel wagen.

Pony farm and carriage rides

The pony farm and carriage rides are the ideal additions to our riding stable at the Trattlerhof. The pony farm is designed to provide a special experience for children. Here, our younger guests can lead and groom the ponies and hear exciting stories about them. The family adventure day also offers an exciting experience for the whole family, including culinary delights.

With our horse-drawn carriage express, you have another opportunity to experience special moments with horses during your holiday at Trattlers Hof Chalets. The best way to get started is with the introductory experience ride or the candlelit experience ride, which also includes a candlelit dinner at Trattlers Einkehr. If you prefer an exclusive, romantic evening for two, the exclusive luxury carriage experience is ideal, including an aperitif by the campfire and a delicious slow food menu (5 courses) at Trattlers Einkehr.
